Begin Communicating With Children Early
61
It's no question communicating with your child can yield some great results, but it's not always easy to tell what the advantages may be. However, children who develop strong communication skills early have an edge over those that don't.
A Mother's Voice Is Comforting To a Child
Children come out of the womb knowing their mother's voice, as they've heard its soft echo for around nine months. It's something they can latch onto and always find comfort in. Children never get tired of hearing their mother's voice.
Never Miss a Chance to Communicate With Your Child
You should interact with your child as often as you can. He or she will develop stronger language skills earlier. And your child has a better chance of being outgoing, smart and not at all shy of starting conversation with adults. This can start at any age, and is best to begin as soon as possible. This does depend upon your child's temperament, as many children are disposed to shyness, and may not have the capacity to develop as quickly as others. However, it's never a bad idea to encourage.
Use a Positive Voice When Interacting With Your Child
It's also important to note how you interact with your child. Children who are neglected or are consistently berated, will withdraw with no desire to communicate with their parents and this lack of positive interaction will lead to problems outside the home. It could lead to a general sense of lacking-in-self worth, and lead to poor self-esteem. Many parenting courses emphasize this.
Use Any Medium to Speak To Your Child
Children can be stimulated by songs, books, and just a soothing jovial conversation. You should never stop talking to them, and if you run out of things to say, try "I love you." It's never a bad way to go.
Children are like little sponges, and they absorb every word they hear. Try getting your child to mimic what you say,and vise-verse. It can be an interesting game with results that may surprise you. There are many activities for babies that can offer this type of interaction.
Conclusion
Communicating with your child is one of the best ways to bond, as well as develop skills that he or she will use throughout life. It's never too early to start, and it's never a bad idea.

Building a strong relationship with your child through communication is so important; especially in the first five years of life. A child definitely knows a mother's voice. And can benefit from that maternal bond. Premature babies sometimes are disadvantaged based on the lack of this initial lack of bonding. Story books are definitely great for building language skills early. Talking and answering their inquiries are important as well. That constant feedback will reap rewards down the road. This is essentially what would differentiate your child from others. Thanks for sharing. Awesome hub. Voted up.

I really believe that talking to babies is important and I did this instinctively with my children. Even singing to them and asking them questions before they can join in or answer is useful,I think it all helps. I enjoyed reading this.
